15 Reason To Start Your Own Business in 2015

Hello   Friends
I’m sure it has crossed your mind a million times and you are probably waiting for the perfect time to start your own business. There’s no perfect time to start, just go ahead and start it. I sincerely hope that this is the year you take action and start that business idea you’ve always had. The entrepreneurship road isn’t easy, there are lots of setbacks and disappointments along the way but it is and can be a very rewarding and fulfilling experience. So today I want to give you 15 extra pushes (or reasons) from my own personal experience why you need to start your own business in 2015:

 1. Respect of others: Nothing instantly gives you the respect and admiration of your friends, family and loved ones than when you have a business that is successful and thriving. Suddenly your opinions, point of views, advice and suggestions become more valuable to the people around you. Trust me, it is one of the best feelings you can have in the world

 2. Multiple streams of income: To have money flowing to you round the clock, and whenever you need it without having to take a loan or waiting to receive a salary at the end of every month is a privilege available only to people who have their own business. It also allows you to become financially independent.

3. Life Skills: Starting your own business forces you to learn and master important skills that are vital to your all round success in life. Skills like negotiation, marketing, selling, people management etc. are just a few of the skills you will pick up in the course of running your own business.
 4. Exciting Life: The life of an entrepreneur is an exciting one. You will no longer live a boring life of work-sleep-work. Having your own business forces you to face a lot of interesting challenges and obstacles that will bring fun and excitement into your life. You’ll have a lot of exciting and fun stories to share with people.

5. Helping Others: Your business can only be successful to the extent that it is solving a problem in somebody’s life or it is improving their life in some way. And when you know that your actions are helping others move forward in life, it brings a joy and fulfillment to your belly that money can’t buy.
 6. Connections: I’m sure you’ve heard the saying that your network is your net worth. Starting your own business expands your network and makes you a well-connected person. On the journey to making your business a success, you will cross path with a lot of very knowledgeable and expert individuals who will help you climb higher on the success ladder.

7. Job Security: Nobody can sack you from your own business. You can’t be transferred to another state or city neither can you be moved to another unit or section without your consent. You are the boss

8. Higher sense of self-worth: Your happiness in life is strongly tied to how much control you have over the major decisions and areas of your life. Having your own business gives you full control of a very important area of your life that affects your dignity and self-worth: your finances

9. Become a doer: Having your own business doesn’t leave room for excuses and procrastination over getting things done and achieving your goals. You are forced to become a doer once you have your own business. Doers are achievers.

10. Make better decisions: Because having your own business forces you to become knowledgeable in other very key areas of life, your ability to analyze situations and make quality decisions improve dramatically. It is what makes your friends and family respect your opinions on issues.

11. Know how the world really works: Having your own business makes you know how to take an idea and turn it into a reality. Along the way, you will find out that most of the method and ways you thought would give you the result you desired didn’t work out like you thought but by determination, you find out what really produces results. Dreamers think they know how to get things done, but only entrepreneurs really know how to accomplish things in the real world.

12. Risk Taker: Without taking risks in life, you can never accomplish anything worthwhile. No risk, no successful venture. Owning your own business develops your attitude of taking calculated risks.
13. Creativity: The entire process of owning and running your own business makes you exercise your creativity in ways you never thought possible. You need creativity to succeed in business. And when you have your own business, you exercise your creative muscles constantly. This constant exercise of your creative muscles makes you a very creative person. Most of the innovations we enjoy in the world today were brought about by creative entrepreneurs like Thomas Edison, Bill Gates, Sergey Brin, Elon Musk etc.

 14. Freedom: Once your business is doing well, you have the liberty to take time off to travel, go on vacations and do all those things you dreamed of doing when money is no longer an obstacle.

 15. Recognition: The number one complaint that most workers have is that they don’t get adequate recognition and praise for the work they do. When people get adequate recognition for their contributions, it makes them feel valued. As an entrepreneur, you’ll get a lot of recognition for the success of your business. And when you do, make sure you thank and appreciate the people who helped you—no one is an island.

Don’t waste time anymore; the world is waiting for you to execute that business idea (online or offline) you have!  From Femi Olu
